Description

The fully removable water tank and bean container are just some of the most desirable features packed into the coffee team Pro plus line. It is widely known that fresh grinding your beans is the optimal way to prepare drip- style coffee, but for the first time ever, The Coffee team Pro plus allows for complete access to the solid steel conical burr. The intricate design of the conical steel burrs provides for a higher gear Reduction to slow down the grinding speed below 500 rpm. The slower the speed, the less heat that is imparted to the ground Coffee thus preserving maximum aroma. The two-step grind and clean process ensures no beans and minimal ground Coffee are left in the grinder after use. Fully adjustable grind and cup settings make it easy to craft the perfect brew no matter your strength preference, and the all new "oily" Bean setting, and the redesigned, low friction bean container automatically compensates for slower feeding Dark roasts.Freshness seal bean container lid preserves coffee flavor

So I had a 465 that lasted around eight years. The unit still brewed coffee like a beast, but some of the buttons on the front were wearing out and needed to be pressed with more precision than a fine jeweler uses to cut diamonds. So why would you get this over the 465?Well, there's the removable water tank, the removable bean basket, superior display, and far greater ease of cleaning. The first "Uh, oh" is that this unit only has three levels of grind size precision versus the TS 465's five levels of grind size, and it's coarsest grind is still powdery compared to the TS 465, which seemed to have the effect of making my brand of beans bitter. Hence the two stars for flavor. And a note on my TS 465 - the only way I *ever* cleaned it was by running more beans through it. That workhorse basically only got a break when we went on a family vacation. I've cleaned the 488 weekly, and still get bitter-ass, too finely ground coffee.Let's talk about the removable basket for a minute. It worked really well and was a neat function, particularly for all the cleaning I needed to do. For about a month, until I had to take it apart because a sliver of bean got kicked back up to the spring loaded doors and blocked one of them from closing, so I was getting several more cups of beans than I had pressed on.... And that door's held on by 5 small screws, one of which I almost stripped because they are more than hand tightened and I didn't want to dig for the exact size of screw driver out of my tool drawer... Which I ended up doing anyway.Over all, if you want a unit that just grinds beans and then makes coffee, get a TS 465. It will serve you better in the long run.
